Since this is my first blog I thought a good subject would be my industry, the apparel business. Our company makes women's apparel under several brands that are sold to both small and large retailers as well as through our own website.
We make several hundred new styles every 12 weeks, design them, tech pack them, send to other parts of the world for prototypes, test the fabrics and fit on each one, then watch over production so that each small group of "color-related" collections, ship together and on time.
Compared to any other manufacturing company, that comes out with one new product every six months, we run our business on steroids.
Been doing it for 40 years, so it hasn't killed me yet, but there's always tomorrow.
